This art competition is a joint venture by:
The Christchurch branch of the NZ China Friendship Society and Harcourts Gold Spitfire. It follows on from the highly successful competitions in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

PRIZES
The Prizes will be vouchers because it allows the winners to choose items that are useful and personally meaningful to them.
For each group: -

1st PRIZE
1st Prize: one award, $300

2nd PRIZE
Up to two awards, $200 each

3rd PRIZE
Up to three awards, $100 each

4th PRIZE
Highly commended: up to 10 awards

THEME
The theme of this year’s competition is ‘Animals connecting NZ and China with friendship’
ELIGIBILITY
The competition will be split into three groups, based on your school year group (1 – 10). Years 1 – 4, Years 5 – 8, Years 9 - 10
PRIZES
The Prizes will be vouchers because it allows the winners to choose items that are useful and personally meaningful to them.
For each group: -

1st Prize: one award, $300

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Artwork to be sent to Harcourts Gold Spitfire Office Unit 12, 544 Memorial Avenue, Christchurch Airport, Christchurch 8053, before 5.00pm Friday 30th October.
PRIZEGIVING CEREMONY
All entries will be displayed from 10 am Saturday 28th November in the TSB Room, Level1, Tūranga (Central Library), 60 Cathedral Square, Christchurch. Prizegiving will commence at 2.30 pm
COMPETITION RULES

Students must register their artwork by going to www.rewialleymuseum.com/art2026 and completing the Art Competition Submission Form. They can then print the form and attach it to the back of their artwork.

If you are unable to go to the website, please complete the form on Page 2 and attach to the back of your artwork.

Students MUST attach the label to the back of their art-work.

Your artwork must contain a Chinese element

Artwork to be presented on A4 cartridge paper (170 or 230 GSM)

You may use wet or dry medium for your artwork. Wet medium (acrylic paint, watercolour paint, gouache, and ink) or dry medium (pencil, pastels, crayons, or felt-tip markers).

Collage techniques are not permitted in your artwork. Do not use glue or tape to attach twigs, raised pieces of cardboard, or any similar elements.

All competitors can collect their artwork from Turanga after the prize giving.

Alternatively, artwork can be collected from Harcourts Gold Spitfire after that date.

Entries from outside Christchurch can be returned at the owner’s expense.

By participating, you give permission for your artwork to be used by the organisers for promotional purposes.
